"Mermaid Garden" (2007) is a black-and-white etching by Carla Danes rendering aquatic plants in fine detail against a dark ground. Without sand or setting, the leaves curl and reach in every direction, filling the plate with movement and intricate line work. Printed on 8 x 11 inch paper.
"Tiger in the Fish Tank" (2009) is a digital work by Carla Danes depicting an underwater scene assembled from everyday objects, where buttons become bubbles and coils of hair become drifting water plants.
