RUTH LEAFTake a look at a selection of Ruth Leaf's work — prints shaped by more than six decades of experimentation and a pioneering command of the craft. Each piece reflects a rare pairing of technical precision and expressive freedom.
Featured Prints
"Memories" is a monoprint by Ruth Leaf that arranges figures and abstract shapes into loosely defined blocks. Each element takes on its own texture and color identity while black outlines carry the eye across a layered arrangement drawn from Leaf's fascination with form at every scale. Printed on 24 x 18 inch paper.
"Dirty Dancing" is a monoprint by Ruth Leaf where fluid, organic forms reach to touch and block against each other. Many are drawn in black, but others shift the contrast into color itself so the surface hums between structure and release, broken only by a single empty block left as quiet ground. Printed on 18 x 24 inch paper.
"Interstices" is a monoprint by Ruth Leaf built around three rigidly structured blocks framing fluid, organic forms on moody backgrounds. The surrounding space loosens into its own composition of defined forms that contrast against the enclosed shapes. Printed on 18 x 24 inch paper.
"Tapestry" is a monoprint by Ruth Leaf that sets flowing organic forms against panels of rich, warm color, their open white grounds giving way to denser, more textured blocks below. Deep reds and magenta carry the surface, worked through with blue, yellow, and green in Leaf's layering of color and form. Printed on 18 x 24 inch paper.
